The re: publica is a conference about the Internet, the topics are ranging from media and culture, politics and technology to entertainment. The target group of the conference are content creators, bloggers, vloggers and the digital society in general.
I was very happy that I was asked to moderate a stage at the re: publica 2017. Initially it was planned that I should moderate two days on a voluntary basis, due to a booking by a customer I had to cancel one of the two days and so I was the stage host only on the second day of the conference, the 9th of july. I was the stage host for stage 9 and guided the guests through the program and fulfilled the wishes of the Speakers
I was especially pleased by the presentation of the very modest members of the Seawatch organization who presented the Seawatch project as well as the self-developed Search and Rescue app. As a moderator, I had the opportunity to repeat the call for donations, since the speakers in noble modesty mentioned the fact that Seawatch was financed only through donations only in a sidenote.
A part of the lectures was in German, another part was in English, so I moderated both in German and in English. If at the end of a lecture there was still time for a question & answer session then I also moderated the Q&A session.
All lectures began and ended on time, all the speakers were satisfied and happy. There was only a brief stressful situation when a lecturer had to cancel her lecture after the first few minutes for health reasons.
